On Thursday, October 15, 2009, John G. Mulroe officially announced his intent to run for the Illinois Senate seat (10th district) being vacated by James DeLeo. Over the following two weeks, nearly 3,500 petition signatures were obtained in support of John's candidacy in the 10th district. On Monday, November 2, John personally filed his petitions with the State Board of Elections in Springfield, Illinois, seeking a position on the ballot in the Illinois general primary election on February 2, 2010. Between today and that date, John will be out and about in the 10th district to meet its residents. John looks forward to introduce himself, answer questions and discuss the concerns that affect all of us as citizens of the 10th district, Cook County and the state of Illinois.
